July 20, 2014

Alistair Overeem comes back on the show to talk about his upcoming fight against “Big” Ben Rothwell, and how his training is going at his new home in Jackson/Winkeljohn’s Gym. The Demolition Man shares his thoughts on the Vibe at his new Gym in Albuquerque, his new sparring partners, such as Frank Mir, Travis Browne, Jon Jones, and why “Bones” would be a dominant force at Heavyweight. The Reem also talks about other things, such as the EA Sports UFC Game, how the Cain Velasquez/Fabricio Werdum fight will play out, if he’d ever move back to Light Heavyweight, signing with First Round Management, his kickboxing style vs his MMA style, Australia’s Stereosonic Festival, and lots more.

Alistair is recently coming off a win over Frank Mir at UFC 169. The 3 round decision snapped a two fight losing streak for ‘The Reem’, as he battled hard times after knockout loses to Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva and Travis ‘Hapa’ Browne. Both Fights were considered upsets. Prior to that, Alistair Overeem was undefeated in his last 12 contests, a streak that stretched back to 2007, and included names such as Brock Lesnar, Mark Hunt, Gary Goodridge, Kazuyuki Fujita, James Thompson, Todd Duffee, Fabricio Werdum.
